COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS

Arrival
All athletes need to be at the site location no less than one hour prior to the scheduled competition start.

Practice Dives
Prior to the contest, a practice session of around 15 minutes is to be scheduled. An Official will signal the opening and conclusion of the practice session. Only dives from the dive list will be allowed.

Official Opening / Athletes Introduction
After the practice session all athletes must remain close to the platform for the official opening and introduction of the contest.

Start order
New qualifiers will open the competition followed by the established athletes in reverse order to their actual ranking. The start order will remain consistent for the entire competition.

Dives
The athletes will perform dives as listed on their dive lists.
The listed dives are binding.

Rounds
There are to be three rounds. All athletes perform one dive in each round.

Breaks
After each round, there is to be a break of around 10 minutes. An Official will signal the end of this break period.

Degree of difficulty (dd)

All degrees of difficulty are counted on the WHDF degree of difficulty formula basis (see
degree of difficulty).

Judges / Judging
Five international judges observe each dive and independently award scores unrelated the difficulty of each dive. The score range is 0 to 10, with 1/2 marks in between from 0 – 5 and 1/4 marks in between from 5 - 10. For detailed information see
Judging

Points
The highest and the lowest marks are eliminated and the sum of the remaining scores is multiplied with the degree of difficulty to determine the final points awarded for each dive.

Awards Presentation
All athletes and judges must remain on site for the awards presentation and interviews.

Protest
In case that an athlete, a judge or a WHDF official recognizes a failed dive, an error or an irregularity that could have influence on the ranking, he can announce a protest to the WHDF board. This protest must be presented in written form no later than two hours after the last dive of the competition and must contain a complete description of the occurrence.
The Head Judge, a WHDF Official and the athlete, elected during the pre-event meeting, will together decide whether the protest is reasonable. All video material will be submitted for consideration under such circumstances.
